Automation engineering and client delivery across BFSI, retail and travel.

These are our own practice questions for the kind of QA/SDET role this company hires for. They are not the company's real interview questions. Confirm the current process on the company's official careers page.

What they tend to probe

  • Selenium or Playwright
  • API testing
  • BDD
  • DevOps for testers
  • Client communication
  1. Question 1 · Automation · Medium

How do you decide what belongs in the smoke suite?

    Answer guide

Critical business paths that must work for the build to be worth testing: login, search, one purchase or transaction, key integrations. Keep it under ten minutes and stable.

  2. Question 2 · BDD · Medium

A Cucumber suite has hundreds of near-duplicate steps. How do you clean it up?

    Answer guide

Rewrite scenarios at business level, merge steps with parameters, remove UI detail from Gherkin, and keep a short glossary agreed with product.

  3. Question 3 · API testing · Medium

How do you chain API calls in a test when one response feeds the next request?

    Answer guide

Extract the value (id or token) from the response, pass it into the next step, assert at each hop, and keep each test independent by creating its own data.

  4. Question 4 · DevOps · Medium

How do you run UI tests in a Docker container in CI?

    Answer guide

Use an image with the browser, run headless with a set viewport, mount or copy the project, publish reports and traces as artifacts, and pin versions.

  5. Question 5 · Travel · Hard

Test a flight search where results come from several suppliers with different response times.

    Answer guide

Timeout and partial results handling, sorting and filters, price consistency between search and booking, supplier errors, caching, and currency rounding.

  6. Question 6 · Communication · Easy

The client asks for daily status but you have nothing new. What do you send?

    Answer guide

Send the facts anyway: progress against plan, blockers, risk changes and the next step. Silence reads as a problem.
